FAQ

I currently receive my replacement supplies from Apollo Medical Services. What happens if I move/deploy to another location?

We can supply you with your CPAP supplies regardless of your location as long as your current shipping address is on file & Tricare is still your primary insurance. Please contact us at our office at 813-938-5837 to update the address we have for you on file.

What is the appropriate procedure for traveling with my machine?

Never check your CPAP machine with your luggage. Declare your CPAP as a medical device to the airline and most will allow you to carry it on at no additional charge.

When is a full face mask preferable to a nasal or nasal pillows mask?

A full face mask is preferable if you tend to have mouth leaks or breathe through your mouth over the course of the night. In this scenario a full-face mask will provide a number of benefits over a nasal or nasal pillows mask, including stopping air loss that can compromise treatment and can help to resolve a dry mouth, nose and/or throat. Mouth leak and mouth breathing without the use of a full face mask will obstruct your full treatment pressure and thus may not be receiving the full benefits of your treatment.

What is the best way to adjust my mask for a proper fit?

Always adjust the mask in a sleeping position to simulate normal usage of the mask. Once in a sleeping position adjust the mask to fit, but do not over tighten it. Over tightening will cause discomfort and create a leak with the mask seal.

My mask is leaking, what does this mean?

There are several factors that can result in mask leak, including incorrect fitting, size or assembly. Contact us at 813-938-5837 so we can better troubleshoot and solve your specific issue.

How should I clean my mask?

Hand wash the mask system with warm, soapy water and allow the system to air dry. Be cautious not to over clean your mask, as it will cause your mask to deteriorate faster.

How do I clean the water chamber on my humidifier?

Hand wash the chamber with warm water and mild soap. Be sure to rinse the chamber thoroughly to remove any soap residue and give a final rinse with distilled water before drying out of direct sunlight.

What type of water should I use in my humidifier?

Only distilled water should be used in the water chamber. Bottled water or water from a home purification system are not distilled and will cause damage to the machine/chamber.

How much water should my humidifier use on a nightly basis?

The amount of distilled water used each night varies based on the patient’s need and climate.

How do I know what temperature setting to use with my humidifier?

Each scenario contains its’ own variables, contact us at 813-938-5837 if you are having issues and we can assist you in troubleshooting your humidification settings.

Why is there water in my hose?

To reduce water buildup in the hose try reducing your humidity level and/or raise the room temperature of your bedroom to close the gap between the room temperature and that of the humidifier. Also remember to keep doors and windows closed during the night. If issues continue contact us at 813-938-5837.
